Tyler Roth brings Penn a versatile, high-IQ defensive presence
Tyler Roth is listed by Penn as a linebacker, and the main reason to care is his versatility and football IQ—his prior college football experience also included defensive back and punter work at Princeton, where he earned All-Ivy League honorable mention three straight seasons. That kind of multi-role background suggests a player who understands leverage, spacing, and special-teams value, which can make him a useful fit for a team that wants dependable, adaptable depth rather than just raw measurables.[1][6]
