the steady VCU guard who wins with poise, not flash
Merlo stands out as a composed, battle-tested guard whose value is built on ball security, timely distribution, and a calm floor-general presence rather than empty-box-score noise. Reliable outlet and historical coverage describe her as a guard who helps stabilize an offense, with a feel for tempo and decision-making that coaches tend to love and opponents hate. If you want a low-drama, high-IQ backcourt piece who can organize possessions and keep a team on track, Merlo is the kind of fit that quietly raises the level of everybody around her.
