veteran Sacramento State kicker with proven leg strength and big-game range
In the available Sacramento State records, Juan Gamboa stands out as a long-time, high-volume kicker who brought dependable distance on kickoffs and the ability to hit field goals from range; one 2007 game log shows a 40-yard field goal, and his 2011 San Jose SaberCats review notes he made 36 of 56 field goals (64.3%) and averaged 59.0 yards per kickoff as a senior with 12 touchbacks. He looks like the kind of specialist who can flip field position and answer pressure moments, though his field-goal consistency was more solid than elite.
