Caleb Danzeisen is Arizona’s breakout freshman bat with a hitter’s eye
Danzeisen has quickly become a useful everyday piece for Arizona in 2026, producing a .288 average with a team-best .448 on-base percentage through 17 starts, powered by patient at-bats, a strong line-drive profile, and 14 walks against 12 strikeouts.[3][2] He’s also shown clutch upside, including a game-tying three-run homer at Utah and a run-producing night against New Mexico, which makes him more than just a contact bat.[9][2] The key fit question is defense and position flexibility, since he’s transitioned from catcher to regular right field, but the bat and competitiveness already look Big 12-ready.[3][8]
