Big-armed, high-volume UMass passer who once ranked among the nation’s elite
In the 2014 season, Frohnapfel was the engine of the UMass offense, ranking 4th nationally in passing yards per game (334.5) and finishing with 3,345 passing yards and 23 touchdowns, while also earning first-team All-MAC honors and the Bulger Lowe Award.[1][4][6] His differentiator was volume paired with legitimate downfield production — including a 589-yard, 5-touchdown game — plus prototypical size at 6-6 and 225 pounds.[2][4] The main caution is durability, since he missed a game in 2014 due to injury, but when healthy he projected as a high-ceiling, pocket-based quarterback who can carry an offense.[4]
