Rachel Mendelsohn brought tough, efficient guard play to Kent State
Rachel Mendelsohn’s Kent State profile shows a physically tough 5-foot-8 guard who could handle point-guard duties and make winning plays under pressure. In the 2012-13 season, she averaged 5.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, 52 assists and 35 steals while playing in 28 of 30 games; she also delivered a 21-point opener capped by a game-winning buzzer-beater three, a nice little “I’ve got this” card. Her differentiator was grit-plus-composure: a capable lead guard, active defensively, and reliable in clutch moments. That combo makes her a fit for teams needing steadiness, poise, and edge.
