Old-School Lead Blocker with NFL Bloodlines
Anthony Sherman was a rugged, high-IQ fullback at UConn who made his name as a lead blocker, special-teams contributor, and sneaky receiving threat; in his 2008 season, he was the Huskies’ second-leading receiver with 26 catches for 270 yards, and in 2010 he served as one of the team captains while starting eight games. He’s a fit if a team wants toughness, assignment soundness, and a lunch-pail mentality over flash—though his prime football résumé is firmly in the rearview, as he later retired after a 10-year NFL career.
