Calvin West brings veteran linebacker energy to Georgia Southern
Calvin West is an old-school, downhill linebacker who fits the “see ball, hit ball” mold—at Georgia Southern, that kind of edge matters. In his early career, he was noted for producing tackles for loss, sacks, forced fumbles, and an interception at the junior-college level, showing both physicality and disruptive instincts. The biggest reason to care: he offers toughness, range, and a proven knack for making negative plays, which can be a clean fit for a defense that wants urgency and violence in the box.
