Steady Iona Gaels Center with High-Intensity Defensive Presence
Milica Paligoric, a 6'3" Serbian center for the Iona Gaels, appeared in 25 games (one start) during the 2024-25 season, averaging 2.7 points and 1.9 rebounds while contributing 7 steals and 5 assists—unusual versatility for a traditional center[3]. Her differentiator is her high-intensity defensive activity and personality-driven hustle, evidenced by her steal total outpacing her rebounding, suggesting she plays with exceptional focus and agility rather than just size[3]. Though her scoring is modest, her intensity level and willingness to guard multiple positions make her a valuable fit for teams needing a gritty, intelligent backup center who elevates team defense without needing star status[3]. No major injury history is reported, and her consistent game appearances reflect reliability and strong team chemistry[3].
