LSU’s high-motor, tackling-machine linebacker
In his 2023 season at LSU, Omar Speights started all 10 games he played, missed three games with injury, and still finished with 70 tackles plus two quarterback hurries; his calling card is reliable run defense, burst to the ball, and the kind of contact balance that keeps him in the play. At 6-foot-1 and about 225 pounds, he’s been viewed as a sturdy, assignment-sound linebacker rather than a flashy stat-splitter, with draft scouts noting he can be limited by average top-end athleticism but praised for his production and toughness. He fits teams that value instincts, physicality, and consistency over pure sideline-to-sideline juice.
