Patrick Bauer gives JMU a towering, veteran right-handed look on the mound
In the 2026 season, the 6-foot-8 senior right-hander logged 54.0 innings over 18 appearances and 10 starts for James Madison, striking out 45 while also flashing real swing-and-miss upside in a season-high 5.1 scoreless innings against Georgia Southern. What makes him interesting is the package: a long, downhill frame, a proven college track record, and a résumé that includes 300-plus career strikeouts before the pro jump. The fit question is simple—if a team wants a durable, experienced arm with starter traits and big-league-looking size, Bauer absolutely belongs on the radar.
