Notre Dame’s Big-Personality Maul Cop OL with Musician Flair
Sam Bush, a 6'4", 287-lb senior offensive lineman for Notre Dame, is a walk-on known as a 'maul cop' on the Irish OL—bringing intense, physical play and a big personality that energizes the team[2][7]. While he didn’t see game action in the 2024 season, his role as a practice standout and team culture driver is clear[1][5]. Beyond football, Bush majors in film, TV, and theatre and expresses himself through music, playing guitar and even serenading the AD[2][5][8]. His differentiators are intensity, versatility, and charisma; he’s a high-character, hard-working fit for teams valuing grit and locker-room energy, though not a current on-field starter[2][5].
