Kquanise Byrd brings veteran point-guard savvy to ODU
In the 2010-11 season, Kquanise Byrd was a steady, starting-caliber guard for Old Dominion, valued more for control and competitiveness than for gaudy scoring; she averaged 3.9 points and nearly two assists per game in 2009-10, started 24 of 33 games, and was praised by ODU notes for her free-throw touch, including leading the CAA at 86.0% from the line at one point. Her calling card is floor leadership: she can organize an offense, defend with effort, and deliver in spurts when the Monarchs need a spark. If your team wants a calm, battle-tested guard who won’t rattle under pressure, Byrd fits the bill.
