Hampton’s versatile G/F still flashing upside
Shavonne Gay is a 5-10 guard-forward for Hampton with a compact college sample so far, posting career averages of 2.0 points and 1.8 rebounds across 16 games[8]. Her value is less about box-score volume and more about position flexibility, length, and rebounding instincts from the wing — the kind of utility piece coaches like because she can plug holes and defend multiple spots[8]. If Hampton wants a tougher, multi-use depth option with room to grow, Gay fits the profile; if it needs immediate high-usage scoring, she is not that yet[8].
