Jason Richardson brings veteran depth and special-teams grit to Troy’s linebacker room
In the 2026 season, Troy lists Jason Richardson as a senior linebacker at 5-11, 212 pounds, and describes him as a veteran defensive piece who will compete for playing time at linebacker and on special teams[1]. What makes him interesting is the “steady veteran” profile: he’s the kind of player coaches trust because he’s experienced, physical enough for the box, and versatile enough to help in coverage and on coverage units[1]. If your team wants a tough, dependable, low-drama linebacker who fits into a rotation and elevates special teams, Richardson checks the right boxes[1].
