Veteran Alabama State edge presence with disruptive upside
Noel Alphonso is a long, productive defensive end who already showed real disruptive ability at Alabama State, including 17 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks in the 2006 season, plus preseason All-SWAC recognition entering 2007. At 6-foot-5 and about 270 pounds, he brings length, strength, and enough athleticism to threaten gaps and finish plays. He also flashed playmaking instincts in 2009 with a defensive touchdown on an interception return, which screams motor and awareness. If you want an experienced, physical edge defender who can create chaos, Alphonso fits the bill.
