Mustafa Al-Sayyad was a paint-protecting force for Fresno State
In the 2004-05 season, Fresno State center Mustafa Al-Sayyad was a high-impact interior big who averaged 10.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, and 57.8% shooting in 30 games, earning WAC Player of the Week honors after a 20.0-point, 8.5-rebound, 4.0-block stretch. He stood out for rim protection, efficient finishing, and physical rebounding—exactly the kind of tone-setting center who changes how opponents attack the lane. If you want a tough, low-ego anchor in the middle, he’s your guy; if you need stretch shooting, that’s not his game.
