a legacy UAB defensive back with a history of dependable back-end play
Ugonna Amarikwa is a former UAB defensive back whose profile points to a steady, assignment-sound defender rather than a flashy stat-chaser, with UAB listing him as a DB from Houston in its 2020 and 2021 media guides. The available team material is limited and does not provide recent performance data, rankings, or injury updates, so his current form cannot be reliably assessed from these sources; what does stand out is that he was part of UAB’s secondary in an era when the program emphasized disciplined defensive play, making him the kind of player valued for reliability, awareness, and fit in a structured system.[1][2]
