Bullpen arm with early-season punch for Southern
In the 2026 season, Southern right-hander Jayden Lawrence has already shown he can steady a game in relief, earning a win with 2.1 innings and four strikeouts against Morehead State, then logging more bullpen work in conference play. He’s a freshman RHP with a strong academic profile and a résumé of leadership from Chapel High, which suggests a composed, coachable competitor rather than just an arm on a chart. The fit question: if a staff wants a strike-throwing, pressure-tested reliever with upside, Lawrence is worth a hard look.
