rangy ball-hawking safety with proven playmaking instincts
Mitchell Brees brings a classic safety profile: in the 2018 season for Illinois State, he started all 11 games, ranked seventh on the team with 46 tackles, and tied for second with 3 interceptions while adding 7 pass breakups and 4 tackles for loss. The big differentiator is his knack for making disruptive, momentum-flipping plays rather than just piling up stops. He also flashed a physical edge, including a pick-six earlier in his Redbirds career. If you want a safety who can read quickly, attack the ball, and create turnovers, he fits the bill.
