Trenton Lombardo brings switch-hit upside and catching experience to Evansville
Lombardo entered the 2026 season as a 6-foot, 190-pound catcher with a real hitter’s résumé: he earned IMG Academy’s Best Hitter award, posted a .433/.513/.600 line there, and added summer-ball reps in the Northwoods League and Valley League. In Evansville’s 2026 action, he has shown flashes as a run-producing contact bat, including a pinch-hit double vs. Ole Miss, while his season line sat at .174 with a .486 OPS and a strong defensive mark at catcher. He looks like a fit for teams valuing athleticism, offensive upside, and a grinder mentality.
