Ryan Apaliski brings Pitt a local lefty with legit command and strike-throwing upside
In 2025 at Gulf Coast State College, Ryan Apaliski posted a 1.48 ERA across 24.1 innings and allowed only two earned runs in nine conference outings, which is the kind of efficient left-handed profile Pitt loves to plug into meaningful innings. The 5-foot-11 junior from Hampton, Pa., also has a standout high-school pedigree, having once taken a no-hitter into the seventh inning while striking out 17 in a WPIAL playoff game. He looks like a steady, competitive arm with real matchup value, especially if your team wants strike-throwing, local toughness, and a pitcher who’s already shown he can miss bats without getting rattled.
