Veteran Colorado corner with starter-level trust and a playmaker’s résumé
In the 2005 season, Gerett Burl emerged as one of Colorado’s most trusted defensive backs, starting at corner and leading the Buffaloes’ secondary with 61 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 14 pass breakups, while logging the most snaps by any CU defender. He was also honored as a co-winner of Colorado’s Dave Jones Award for top defensive player, which says a lot about the staff’s confidence in his consistency and competitiveness. If you want a corner who tackles like he means it and can survive in big moments, Burl fits the bill.
