a high-usage, two-way forward who filled every column for Holy Cross
Gerrale Gates was the engine for Holy Cross in the 2022-23 season, averaging 16.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.1 blocks per game while earning All-Patriot League honors for the third straight year. He stood out for his motor, versatility, and rebound-to-run impact, plus the kind of nightly double-double threat that changes a game’s physical tone. The catch: his outside shot was a weak point, so he profiles best as a tough, high-IQ frontcourt piece who can defend, rebound, and create offense without needing a steady diet of jumpers.
