Experienced Michigan Edge With Size, Depth Value, and Development Upside
Van Alstyne is a fifth-year Michigan defensive end at 6-foot-4, 266 pounds, which gives him the frame and experience teams want in a rotational edge defender.[4] He is not listed with public stat production in the sources provided, so his value is more about steady developmental depth, physical maturity, and fit in a demanding defensive front than flashy numbers.[4][5] If you need an older, scheme-disciplined defender who can add toughness and size to the edge room, he looks like a sensible fit; if you want an instant-impact pass-rush producer, the available evidence does not show that yet.[4][5]
