William Hooper brings veteran ball skills and NFL-caliber versatility to Northwestern State
In the 2022 season, Hooper was an All-Southland Conference corner who posted 29 tackles, a team-high 12 pass breakups, and a blocked extra point, and his 1.2 passes defended per game ranked 25th nationally in the FCS. He finished his NSU career with 105 tackles, 19 pass breakups, three interceptions, two sacks, and a forced fumble, which is the profile of a disruptive, do-it-all DB rather than just a coverage specialist. At 6-foot, 185, he’s the kind of physical, experienced corner who can challenge throws, contribute on special teams, and fit a defense that values toughness and playmaking.
