Simoni Lawrence Is a Minnesota Alum, Not a Current Gophers Linebacker
Simoni Lawrence is not currently a Minnesota Golden Gophers player; he’s a Gophers alum whose college resume included 85 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 1 interception, and 1 forced fumble in his final Minnesota season, which helped launch a long pro career. He became known for intensity, toughness, and a high-motor, physical style that fit best as an undersized but disruptive linebacker. If you’re evaluating him as a fit, the big takeaway is that his value came from relentless edge and instincts—not prototype size—and he’s now a retired veteran, not an active college option.
