veteran Illini LB whose value is depth, discipline, and football IQ
Drew Murtaugh is a longtime Illinois linebacker with a pro-ready frame and a reputation for being a dependable, high-character presence rather than a splashy stat machine; Illinois listed him at 6-3, 225 in its roster bio, and his background includes team-captain honors in high school plus academic distinction, which points to a steady, accountable player who can fit a culture-first locker room. The catch: public, current performance data is thin, so he reads more like a depth-and-intangibles fit than a headline-grabbing impact defender.
