Radek Birkholz brings strike-throwing, relief value, and proven pitchability to Notre Dame
Birkholz is a right-handed arm with a track record of missing bats and limiting traffic, highlighted by a 2024 Notre Dame season in which he posted a 3-0 record, 20 strikeouts, a .175 opponent average, and a 4.67 ERA over 17.1 innings, after a quieter 2025 workload due to just 0.2 innings across three appearances[3]. His high-school résumé suggests real upside too: he was a Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year in Colorado and showed premium strikeout ability and command, while scouting reports note a fastball that reached the low 90s and athletic delivery traits[4][7].
