Utah Tech freshman DB Michael Falatea brings size, upside, and multi-sport toughness
Michael Falatea enters the 2026 Utah Tech picture as a 6-foot, 190-pound defensive back from Herriman, and the appeal is easy to see: he was an ESPN 300 Elite Underclassman in high school and posted a disruptive senior year with five interceptions, 42 tackles, 1,400 all-purpose yards, and six touchdowns in 2022 before returning from an LDS mission. Utah Tech’s 2025 preview lists him among the newcomers in a deep DB room, which suggests a developmental prospect with real athletic juice, not just a body on the roster. If you want a physical, versatile DB with playmaking instincts and room to grow, he’s a worthwhile swing.
