Peyton Malecha brings strike-throwing length and proven innings to Dayton’s rotation mix
Malecha is a 6-foot-5, right-handed senior who gives Dayton a durable, attack-the-zone profile: in 2026 he has logged 19.1 innings with a 2-1 record and, across his Dayton/college track record, has shown he can work as both a starter and multi-inning option. His calling card is a history of missing bats and handling volume, led by a strong junior-year jump at Dayton after leading Monterey Peninsula in wins, strikeouts and innings pitched. The fit is simple: if a team wants size, experience and a competitive arm that can soak up innings, he’s a credible bullpen-to-rotation piece.
