Durable Northern Illinois tackle with NFL-level pedigree
Doug Free is a former Northern Illinois offensive tackle whose calling card was size, durability, and coachability: he developed into a multi-year NFL starter after arriving as a mid-round draft pick, and team coverage described him as a hard-working, dedicated player who kept improving with technique. His best fit is as a dependable, physically mature lineman projection rather than a flashy stat-sheet player, with experience and steadiness standing out more than raw upside. He last played professionally in 2016, so this is a legacy profile rather than a current active-performance update.[6][13][17]
