Appalachian State's Undersized DT Powerhouse from the 2015 Era
Darian Small, a 6-1, 276-pound defensive tackle from the Class of 2012, signed with Appalachian State and delivered solid production in 2015, appearing in 12 games with 10 tackles (3 solo, 7 assisted), including key stops against Georgia Southern. His differentiator? Relentless motor and quickness for his size (5.43 40-yard dash), earning a spot on the prestigious Wuerffel Trophy Watch List among 88 national standouts for community impact. Ideal fit for teams valuing gritty, high-character linemen who disrupt plays despite modest stature—no major injury flags, pure blue-collar intensity.
