Scotty Prunty brings local roots, walk-on grit, and steady guard instincts to San Diego
Prunty is a San Diego native and former Cathedral Catholic captain who arrived at USD as a walk-on, which says plenty about his toughness, team-first mindset, and willingness to earn every minute. He’s a compact 5-11 guard with deep Toreros family ties, giving him added familiarity with the program and a high-IQ feel for the game. His listed college production was limited in earlier seasons, so his value is more about reliability, competitiveness, and keeping the floor organized than stuffing a stat sheet.
