Jaylen Jones brings strike-throwing lefty depth with a proven college track record
UNLV’s Jaylen Jones is a left-handed pitcher with real college mileage, having logged 20 appearances and four starts in 2023 while striking out 28 hitters in 23.0 innings, then returning in 2024 for seven more outings before missing the 2025 season due to injury. His profile suggests a competitive, low-maintenance arm who can help stabilize the staff if he’s healthy, and the key differentiator is experience: he has already handled multiple roles and shown he can miss bats in short bursts. The injury history is the main question, but the upside is a dependable LHP with bullpen value and spot-start utility.
