steady veteran linebacker with proven production and a blue-collar edge
In the 2026 season, Justin Cruz profiles as a dependable Ball State linebacker with a long track record of production, including 135 career tackles and 8.5 tackles for loss across his Ball State tenure[2][3]. At 6-foot, 224 pounds, he brings compact, physical run support and enough experience to help stabilize the middle of a defense[2]. His biggest differentiator is reliability: he’s been around the program, has earned senior recognition, and fits the mold of a smart, durable, team-first defender who can do the dirty work without needing the spotlight[2].
