UMES’s quick-hit backcourt spark
DeVaughn Hailey is a former Maryland Eastern Shore guard whose profile points to a low-lying, playmaking backcourt presence rather than a pure volume scorer. In her early UMES minutes, she showed immediate offensive feel—10 points in her first collegiate game and another 10-point outing with four assists and a steal in a December 2005 game—while starting for a team that leaned on her to run the offense. The fit question is simple: if your team wants toughness, tempo control, and a guard who can compete right away, Hailey’s the kind of under-the-radar, steady connector worth a look.
