Syracuse’s James Washington brings linebacker size, not receiver stats
James Washington is listed by Syracuse as a linebacker wearing No. 91, but publicly available roster data does not provide enough current 2026 production to judge him as a statistical standout yet[2]. The care-factor here is profile: if he earns snaps, the appeal is the classic LB mix of physicality, downhill attitude, and special-teams usefulness rather than headline-grabbing numbers. Right now, the best read is developmental depth with upside — the kind of player a staff likes for effort, toughness, and role flexibility, especially if he can flash on film and climb the rotation.
