Special-Teams Kicker With a Clean, Reliable College Resume
Spencer Brien’s publicly available college profile is strongest at placekicker, not linebacker: Cal listed him as a 6-foot-1, 185-pound redshirt freshman in the 2024 season, and the broader recruiting footprint points to a specialist with measurable tools rather than a box-score star. The key takeaway is fit—teams should value him for kicking reliability, size, and upside in special teams work, but there isn’t enough public evidence to call him an impact linebacker at the FBS level. If your roster needs a developmental specialist with room to grow, he’s worth a look.
