a compact, experienced Saluki WR with old-school polish
LaSteven McKinney is listed by Southern Illinois as a 5-foot-9, 168-pound senior wide receiver from Broadview, Illinois, giving the Salukis a compact veteran presence on the perimeter[1]. He stands out more for proven roster continuity and reliable role-player value than flash: his profile shows a seasoned, local product who has been part of the program long enough to understand the details, tempo, and toughness required at this level[1][2]. For a team, he looks like a fit if you want a disciplined, experienced receiver who can do the dirty work and bring steady energy to the room[1].
