Alabama A&M’s all-time edge-rushing legend
Robert Mathis is best known as a program-defining pass rusher at Alabama A&M, where he became one of the SWAC’s most disruptive defenders and later a College Football Hall of Fame-level name. In his Alabama A&M career, he was a four-year starter and finished with program-record production, including 44 career sacks and 20 forced fumbles, with a 20-sack senior season that still jumps off the page. The big differentiator: relentless speed-to-power off the edge, plus a knack for finishing plays and creating turnovers.
