veteran UC Davis guard known for poise, free throws, and scoring punch
Jackie Turpin was a proven offensive guard for UC Davis, highlighted by a school-record 15 made free throws in a game and multiple high-scoring outings, including 18 points against UC Santa Barbara and 10 against Pacific in 2005-06. Her edge was toughness and composure under pressure: she could get to the line, steady an offense, and produce when shots were not falling, which matters for teams needing a reliable, veteran lead guard. The available sources show a dependable scorer rather than a flashy stat-stuffer, with her value coming from efficiency, control, and competitive consistency.[2][3][1][4]
