SIUE guard Niya Danfort brings perimeter shooting and playmaking upside
Niya Danfort is a compact, experienced guard who can stretch the floor and handle the ball; in SIUE’s 2022-23 season, she shot 37.1% from three while averaging 5.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game, and ESPN lists her at 7.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game[1][4]. She stands out as a steady connector rather than a pure volume scorer, with the kind of assist-and-rebound production that helps a team function even when shots aren’t falling[1][4]. Pattonville coverage also notes she battled back from a basketball injury, which adds useful context on resilience and availability risk[5].
