Small guard, big opportunity for Rivier
In the 2025-26 season, Nicholas Matos is a freshman guard for Rivier who has appeared in five games, giving the Raiders a young backcourt piece with upside and room to grow[1][3]. He’s listed at 5'7", which means his value has to come from quickness, toughness, and decision-making rather than size — and that’s exactly the kind of guard who can surprise people if his confidence and shot selection keep climbing[1][7]. He’s best viewed as a developmental fit right now: energetic, local-talent-eligible, and still early in his college career, with his long-term ceiling tied to how well he translates his high school resume into GNAC production[1].
