Trey Elder brings dual-threat juice, but his stat line has been streaky
In the 2026 season, Appalachian State QB Trey Elder has thrown for 2,404 yards with 17 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, a profile that shows real production but also some volatility. He’s intriguing because he can create with his legs as well as his arm, and past game logs show he’s been trusted in big spots as a runner and red-zone weapon. If your team wants a quarterback with experience, toughness, and playmaking upside, he fits; if you need a clean, low-risk distributor, the turnover total raises a flag.
