UCF LHP Drew Bellis: High-Velocity Freshman with a Killer Instinct and IMG Academy Pedigree
Drew Bellis, a 2024 IMG Academy graduate and 6'0"/190lb left-handed pitcher for the UCF Knights, stands out not just for his 91 mph max fastball [1][4], but for his intense, competitive personality that drives him to chase double-digit strikeouts even when the game is won [6]. As a freshman in the 2026 season, he made four relief appearances with a 4.50 ERA, allowing only one run on two hits while posting nine strikeouts [2][6]. His differentiator is his 'kid-like love' for the game paired with a fierce desire to dominate, making him a high-intensity fit for teams needing a reliable lefty with room to physically grow and refine his medium athletic build [5]. While he has no recorded injury history, his intensity level suggests he thrives in high-pressure spots, answering why you should care: he’s a data-driven prospect with a killer instinct who could be a future rotation anchor if his frame fills out [5].
