Ava Hodges is a high-upside arm with SEC-style grit in the circle
Ava Hodges, Virginia’s right-handed pitcher, entered the 2026 season as a former nationally ranked recruit and has already shown why the Cavaliers trust her in meaningful innings: in the 2026 season, she made eight appearances with three starts, went 1-0, and logged 15.0 innings with 7 strikeouts and a 6.53 ERA. Her value goes beyond the line: Virginia has used her as both a starter and reliever, and observers noted she worked a strong five-inning start as a freshman and handled pressure spots against top competition like Arkansas. She looks like a fit for teams that want a competitive, versatile, developing pitcher with real upside.
