Marshall McGowan is a bat-first first baseman with real juice
Marshall McGowan, a Western Carolina freshman first baseman in the 2026 season, already flashed impact bat potential by going 3-for-3 with two doubles in a win over Samford and later delivering a career-best three hits and six RBI against Morehead State[2][14]. At 6-foot-3, 230 pounds, he brings a pro-style power frame, and his summer-ball line also backed up the upside: .321 batting average with 23 RBI and a .580 slugging percentage for Strasburg in 2026[3]. He looks like a good fit if you want middle-of-the-order power and a fearless run producer more than a polished glove-first corner infielder[1][3].
