Big West Freshman Pitcher of the Year Luke Howe gives Long Beach State a weekend-starter arm with upside
In the 2026 season, Luke Howe emerged as one of Long Beach State’s most dependable arms, leading the team in wins (5) and innings pitched (85.2) while tying for the team lead with 14 starts and earning Big West Freshman Pitcher of the Year honors. He pairs a power righty profile with workhorse durability, allowing only three home runs all year and showing the kind of mound competitiveness coaches love. The ERA is ordinary, but the strikeout volume, inning-eating consistency, and big-game starter feel make him a legit fit for a rotation that values reliability with upside.
