Jamal Simmons brings veteran DB savvy, but current Nicholls production is hard to verify
Jamal Simmons is listed as a Nicholls Colonels defensive back, but the most reliable accessible records do not show current 2026 production details, so the sharpest read is that he remains more of a roster-name than a stat-line headline. Historically, Nicholls media notes from his playing days show he had 27 tackles, four pass breakups, and an interception in a nine-game season, which suggests a ball-aware, assignment-sound defender with playmaking upside. If he is active now, the selling point is likely his DB instincts and toughness rather than flashy numbers.
